Maxwell Callaghan (Adelaide, Australia) is a visual artist. He graduated with a BVA Honours (First Class) Degree from Adelaide Central School of Art in 2017. Within his practice, he uses processes of painting and writing to examine inner speech and individual memory. His work interconnects, and juxtaposes formative and everyday memories and recollections, ruminating upon their personal importance and social meaning. He was also awarded a Major Travel Award for academic excellence and was included in the National Graduate Show at the Perth Institute for Contemporary Art in the same year. In 2018 he held his first solo exhibition, inside mumbling rain, at FELTspace in Adelaide, South Australia. Maxwell is currently an artist-in-residence at TIFA
